Grand Wine and Spirits: Fostering Bright Futures for Southeastern Connecticut’s Children
Grand Wine and Spirits proudly announces its partnership with The Riverfront Children’s Center in organizing two successful fundraisers, collectively raising over two thousand dollars ($2,070) to support their invaluable mission. As a company deeply committed to community engagement and social responsibility, Grand Wine and Spirits is honored to contribute to the well-being and education of children and families in Southeastern Connecticut. Through these fundraisers, we have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of investing in early childhood education and care.
We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality education and resources, regardless of socio-economic background. Collaborating with The Riverfront Children’s Center aligns perfectly with our values, allowing us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in our community. Grand Wine and Spirits extends sincere gratitude to all who supported these fundraising efforts, whether through donations, attendance, or spreading awareness. Together, we are empowering the next generation and building a stronger, more compassionate community.
Empowering Futures: Riverfront Children’s Center – Where Every Child Thrives
The Riverfront Children’s Center has nurtured the unique needs of children and their families through affordable, high-quality education and care since 1983. Providing childcare and essential early learning from the age of twelve weeks through Kindergarten, Riverfront prepares Southeastern Connecticut’s children for a lifetime of success. Studies have shown that children who participate in high-quality early learning programs secure early numeracy, literacy, and social-emotional skills that set the foundation for better performance in the classroom. Indeed, children who complete such programs are less likely to be involved with the juvenile justice system, exhibit better self-regulation, and feel more self-satisfaction. Our play-based curriculum accredited by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is child led and fosters creative problem solving, teamwork, and resiliency.
Our affordability allows children from all socio-economic backgrounds to attend our program. Subsidies and in-house scholarship dollars are applied to each child’s account based on a sliding scale fee structure, making care affordable and accessible to all families, regardless of income. In addition to the benefits of early learning, reliable childcare offered Monday through Friday, 6 am to 5 pm, allows caregivers to pursue meaningful roles in the community and work for life-sustaining wages. The eighty-plus families enrolled at Riverfront annually benefit from our wrap-around services, such as the on-campus free-choice food pantry, hygiene closet with diapers and wipes, and referrals to social services when appropriate. Our goals are thriving children, strong families, and a flourishing community.
Collaboration with The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, The Edward and Mary Lord Foundation, The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, The Frank Loomis Palmer Foundation, and many other foundations, clubs, businesses, and donors sustains our mission. Without the support of our greater community, our impact would be diminished. We sincerely thank those who show compassion for the babies and young children of Southeastern Connecticut.
