Rose has taken over some of the most prominent wine markets as of date. A top seller in the US, this wine has even managed to outsell whites in France.
To create the beautiful pink color of rose, winemakers use a process called maceration- the juice contacts grape skin for a short period of time lasting only hours or days. A small amount of wine is bled off of a red wine to make rose as a secondary product of a deep red wine. The rarest process would be when finished red and white wines are blended together to achieve flavorful and bold rose. Any red wine grape can be used, however there are different styles preferred and flavors. Primary flavors that can be paired with Rose are red fruits, flowers, citrus, melon and rhubarb.
